This site is a chronicle of my time as part of a YouTube/Pulitzer Center Project:Report competition. I hope to tell you about how a small organization has grown and makes a world of difference into the lives of the disabled. To know how I got to this point, I thought I'd tell you a little bit about myself.
I'm a student at the Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, MO. I'm studying broadcast journalism at the world's first journalism school.
I grew up in Northern Minnesota. Growing up in this part of the country afforded me the opportunity to live in a peaceful place with great educational institutions, picturesque scenery, and, most importantly, wonderful people. Despite the advantages of the aforementioned, I soon realized, however, that if I wanted to make a difference in the world of journalism, I would have to seize the initiative and make that opportunity happen myself since the northland is not regarded as the journalistic Mecca of America.
Mid-Missouri has provided me with everything I could ask for at this point. I have had the chance to share the stories of people all across the state, all while getting the opportunity to shoot and edit my own work. The professional world is only a year away, and I cannot wait to get started!
